Home staging

INSPIRATION

Home staging and dressing of properties is all about maximising sale value while minimising selling times. One needs to put oneself in the shoes of potential buyers and imagine what they will see, think and feel when they enter the property. Will they easily be able to get to the window for the breathtaking views and will they see themselves socialising around the kitchen with a group of friends? What can be used to draw them towards the small second room at the back of the property and how can we help them appreciate the potential use of this? It is not only about having an eye for interior design and knowledge about the real estate market but also understanding the true essence of buyer psychology. At Decoresidence, all these components come together through in depth knowledge, lengthy experience and boundless creativity. But above all, it comes from inspiration.

Throughout the years, I have been inspired by anything from crisp country walks to travels, books, conversations, hotels, the sea, the woods and even a quiet, candlelit morning coffee (often around 6am before my children wake up). I spend a substantial amount of time in my home country Sweden and love the nature, the architecture and the clean, timeless design which is recurring in homes, restaurants, bars and shops. But I have also been influenced by living in colourful, bustling and warm countries such as Mexico, Spain and India and appreciate an eclectic mix of tribal handicrafts and storytelling artworks. I also draw inspiration from my children who constantly challenge me to see the world in new and unique ways. I love to fill my own home with artefacts and treasures from places I have visited and moments I cherish.

Home staging is to a certain extent about neutralising and allowing for buyers to find their own inspiration and imagine themselves in a space. But it is just as much about creating homely, warm and cozy interiors which do just that - inspire people. We tailor each project to ensure it feels bespoke and unique with the aim to make the potential buyer feel as if they have just stepped into their dream home.

With this blog I hope to inspire you who, just like me, like beautiful interiors, objects, forms, colours, patterns, art and thoughts. At this moment I keep enjoying frosty and quiet mornings while at the same time seeing the fruit trees starting to blossom and waiting for Spring to come with everything that brings - floral scents, light, fresh textures and patterns and alfresco eating. I will be back soon with more Springspiration!
